How to Use Istation at Home

  • Unfortunately, due to the sensitive nature of FERPA privacy laws, Istation is unable to provide you with your child’s login information.
  • This information will need to be acquired through the student’s teacher or an administrator at the campus.

Istation’s Indicators of Progress (ISIP™) assessment helps teachers assess student progress and personalize instruction in reading, math, and Spanish literacy. When enabled by a school or district, educators may have the ability to assess students remotely. Istation Reading subscriptions may include ISIP Oral Reading Fluency for K-5 students.

For students with access to ISIP at Home:

  • each ISIP is computer-adaptive and lasts approximately 20-30 minutes
  • testing environments should be quiet and free of distractions
  • scratch paper is helpful (and permitted) while taking ISIP Math
  • assessments are automated - students are prompted at first login each calendar month
  • students may also receive on-demand assessments from teachers
  • assessment availability is based on school/district subscriptions and managed settings

For the most accurate and effective Istation experience, encourage students to do their best while resisting the urge to help! The assessment will make adjustments as a student responds to accurately measure the student’s instructional needs and overall academic progress.

For schools and districts subscribed to Istation instruction, students are seamlessly placed into interactive lessons and activities based on their ISIP results and overall monthly progress. Availability depends on the student’s school or district subscription, meaning students may have access to some or all of the following:
    • personalized instructional paths in reading, math, or Spanish literacy
    • interactive books (Library)
    • writing practice (Writing Rules)
    • student-selected activities (Ipractice)
    • extra activities assigned by the teacher (Assignments)
